Here are some answers to some of the most common student queries:
Your timetable can be located via your e:Vision page. You can access e:Vision here directly or via your dashboard. You can also download your timetable onto your Outlook app but please be aware that your Outlook app may take a while to update with any changes so e:Vision should be your first port of call for up-to-date content. For further information on how to set up your mobile device to view your timetable click here.
If your timetable is currently blank then you should urgently get in touch with your LTS administrative team (see here) who will be able to assist. The Learning and Teaching Service is currently working to ensure that all student timetables are up-to-date so please keep checking your e:Vision page.
If you were enrolled onto your modules prior to the start of the academic year then you should be automatically placed onto your module Blackboard sites. If you cannot locate your module(s) on Blackboard then please contact the Module Organiser in the first instance and they should be able to add you onto the module page. If you have only recently joined your module following an approved change then it may take a little time for your Module Organiser to add you to the module page as this will not happen automatically.
Please urgently get in touch with your LTS administrative team (see here) if your timetable is not showing the correct modules. They can check and confirm your module enrolment status and update your timetable as necessary. Please be sure to refresh your e:Vision and Outlook calendars regularly to ensure that you are viewing the most up-to-date content.
We are currently receiving a particularly high volume of module change requests so please bear with us at this time. We are committed to ensuring that you are placed on your preferred module as quickly as possible and your timetable will be updated as soon as the change is made. If there are any issues with your module change request then we will be in touch.
You can request to change seminar groups by completing a Change of Seminar Request form located here. Please be aware that there are strict criteria regarding seminar change requests so ensure that you read the form carefully before submitting your request.
If your event is due to take place on campus then your timetable should show a room. If your session is due to take place online then there will be no room and, if you are viewing your timetable via Outlook, the event should clearly show as online. Please be aware that many courses are running asynchronous lectures this semester. This means that, though your module may have lectures taking place, they will be pre-recorded and available at your convenience via the Blackboard module page.
We're sure you will understand that creating the timetable this year has been especially complex. We all find ourselves in an unprecedented situation. In order to teach in a Covid-secure environment, we had to factor in social distancing, significantly reduced capacity and increased cleaning, as well as trying to give students as much face to face on-campus teaching as is safely and practically possible. We are aware that a few of you have little or no face-to-face teaching in the first few weeks of this term. We have had to start the term with the balance more towards online delivery, but we will be working to build up face-to-face teaching on campus over the year, Covid permitting. Our aim is for every student to have some in-person on-campus teaching every week. We are looking to make further improvements from October 26 (week five) as we expand capacity. And we will be working to further expand capacity for the spring term this academic year.
We will be timetabling for Semester 2 before Christmas and you should have your second semester timetable on eVision and via Outlook by the end of the current semester. Please keep an eye on your emails over the coming months for the most up-to-date information regarding your Semester 2 timetable.
If you have any special requirements please contact your LTS team (see here) so that they can check the room capacity and inform the seminar leader of any changes to the number of students expected to attend the event.
You will need to report yourself as absent on eVision, and then arrange to catch-up with what you missed. If you are asymptomatic, you can arrange to receive a COVID test by following this link.
Due to an essential planned upgrade of the LIVE SITS software, e:Vision will be unavailable over the final few weekends in May - read for more information.
