UEA is a fantastic place to hold an event – whether it’s a lecture or a BBQ, our campus has a lot to offer. Here’s a list of helpful resources UEA has in place to help support your event and make it one to remember:
Public events listings: If your event is open to the public, you can have your event listed on the main UEA website. Just complete this form to have your event included.
External speaker notification: Remember, if you have a non-UEA speaker at your event you need to complete this form.
Planning and guidance: There’s a wealth of guidance and documents to help you produce a successful and safe event on campus – check out the info here. Everything from risk assessments to BBQs to chalk and leaflets are covered here.
Accessibility: If you have guests who identify an access need, ensure you have them email peep.uss@uea.ac.uk to arrange for a Personal Emergency Evacuation Plan (PEEP).
Conferences: If you are planning to host a conference or there is an event you need support with, contact the team via conferences@uea.ac.uk or complete the online form to see if they can be of assistance.
Digital signs: You can have digital adverts promoting your event on screens across campus – see here for more info.
Bulletins: You can request to have your event publicised via different departmental bulletins – a great way to target specific audiences.
Online live events: There is a very thorough guide on MyUEA to help you with hosting an online event.
Funding: If your event is public engagement activity, you can apply for up to £300 of funding here.
Student Workers: If you need help at your event, there are many experienced Student Workers who are keen to get involved and can be booked by you directly.
Catering: You can book catering directly with Campus Kitchen via CaterSoft.
Spaces: You can use Booker to find out room availability, accessibility, technology available and capacities.
Transport: The Transport team can help you plan for your guests’ experience arriving to your event, and it is always best to alert them to any large events so they can plan for additional on-campus vehicles.
For more information on publicising your event, bookmark this page. Remember, if you have any questions about holding an event and are not sure who to get in touch with, reach out to the Public Events and Engagement team via events@uea.ac.uk or conferences@uea.ac.uk for guidance and assistance.
