As students begin to return to campus, the University has created more areas for students to work, which can be seen in a new study space map, helping students to find a space quickly and easily. You can also find out more about study spaces on campus in the video below:
COVID-19 safety measures mean that the University needs to limit the number of people in buildings, and it’s likely the Library might get a bit crowded at times, particularly between 3.30pm and 4.30pm, which could result in a queue for entry.
UEA has made a number of alternative spaces available to students, and created a new study space map showing group, individual and informal areas.
Below is a summary of the spaces available to students. You can find even more detail on the book a Study Space page.
Pre-booked spaces
There are spaces students can book up to seven days in advance, both in the Library and the rest of campus. It’s simple for students to book, just login into e:Vision and look for the Room Bookings section. You can book both group and individual spaces.
Informal study spaces
The University has added furniture to many informal spaces across campus to enable students to work in a variety of different spaces. The tents outside Nelson Court will also be available for study in when not in use for teaching. These are some other locations students may wish to consider working in:
The Enterprise Centre Foyer, outside area and Roof Terrace
The Medical School – Level 0
Thomas Paine Study Centre Foyer
Laurence Stenhouse Building Atrium
Zicer Building – Level 2
Lecture Theatres Foyer Areas
Library Walkway
The Street
Café Central Balcony
Outdoor tents outside Nelson Court
Drop-in spaces
There are other spaces across campus where students can drop-in and study, without having to pre-book. There are a lot of these in the Library of course, but if the Library is a bit busy you can check the real time dashboard, which will show available spaces across campus. Students working in a drop-in space should remember to scan the QR code so their space is marked as busy.
