Authenticating...

The new securer way of logging in via Multi-Factor Authentication (MFA) has been adopted by thousands of students this semester. Although a large majority of you have successfully adopted MFA on your account, the University has been made aware of some issues that have been encountered.
Detailed below are resolutions for some of the common reported issues.
Your feedback is important, so please continue to get in touch if you have issues – details on how to do this below.
After listening to your Student Voice feedback that there were too many MFA prompts, students will no longer be prompted when using a UEA device within learning spaces across campus.
You can also significantly reduce the number of MFA prompts you receive on your personal device, by connecting to eduroam, UEA’s wireless service. If you’re unsure how to connect, here’s a handy guide for connecting to eduroam.
The University is aware that people are experiencing issues with mobile signal strength and reliability on campus, which is out of UEA’s control. The University recommends that signal issues are reported to your network provider.
If you have set up MFA via text message, rather than the Microsoft Authenticator app, this may cause issues when trying to access UEA accounts and applications.
Microsoft Authenticator app does not require a phone reception to verify and is one way of getting around this. Take a look at instructions on how to download the Microsoft Authenticator app.
IT Services remain on hand for helping you get connected, and the best way to get in touch is via live chat. If you’re on campus and would like to address this in-person, come and visit the walk-in support located in SIZ and the Library. Find out more about where and when you can access MFA support.
Your feedback on MFA is important so that we can continue to improve the experience going forward. You can email the IT Service Desk with any comments or contact Live Chat.
Alternatively, if you would prefer to leave anonymous feedback about MFA or on any other element of your experience at UEA, please visit We're Listening.
