All UEA students and staff must obtain ethical approval before conducting their research if it involves humans, animals or if it might have an impact on the environment or cultural objects.
The relevant Research Ethics Committees (S-RECs) will be able to advise whether your research requires ethical review. Further details can be found on the RIN Research Integrity and Ethics portal pages or email researchintegrity@uea.ac.uk
Before confirming or beginning any research with UEA students, including advertising the research opportunity, in addition to the gaining permission from the relevant Reseach Ethics Committee (as above), you may need approval from the Student Insight Review Group (SIRG).
Follow this chart to find out if you need approval from SIRG before starting your research. More information can be found on the Student Insight Review Group my.uea page or email student.survey.request@uea.ac.uk
The Communications Team will not be able to promote your research opportunity without approval from the UEA Research Ethics Committee and the Student Insight Review Group, as required.
